Welcome to the digital ledger tool available on shivamsoni.in! This application is designed to help you effortlessly manage your daily transactions, keep track of who owes you money, and record what you owe to others.
Whether you are running a small business, managing shop accounts, or just keeping track of personal expenses with friends, this guide will help you get the most out of the tool.
This application prioritizes your privacy. Your data is saved locally on the specific device and browser you are currently using. * No Cloud Storage: We do not save your accounting data on any external servers. This means your information is 100% private to you.
Device Specific: Because the data lives on your device, you cannot log in on a different phone or laptop and see the same data automatically.
Risk of Data Loss: If you clear your browser’s history/cache, or if you format your phone, your entries will be deleted.
The Solution: To keep your data safe or move it to a new phone, you must regularly use the Backup Data (Download) and Restore Data (Import) features explained below.
Quick Entry: Easily record “You Gave” (money you lent/items sold on credit) and “You Got” (money received).
Automatic Calculations: The dashboard automatically calculates your total pending balances.
Smart Reminders: Send one-click transaction summaries to your customers via WhatsApp or SMS.
App Installation: Install the tool directly to your phone’s home screen for quick access, just like a regular app.
Completely Free & Private: No sign-ups, no hidden fees, and absolute data privacy.
Before you start adding transactions, it’s a good idea to set up your profile so your business name appears on the messages you send.
Click the Gear/Settings Icon (⚙️) on the top right of the home screen.
Enter your Business Name, Mobile Number, and Address.
Click Save Profile.
On the home screen, tap the “+ ADD CUSTOMER” button at the bottom.
Enter the customer’s name (required). You can also add their mobile number and address.
Tap Save Customer. They will now appear on your main dashboard.
Tap on any customer’s name from your list to open their profile.
At the bottom of the screen, choose an action:
Tap YOU GAVE (Red) if you gave them money, goods, or services on credit.
Tap YOU GOT (Green) if you received a payment from them.
Enter the amount. You can also add a small note (like “For groceries” or “Cash payment”) and adjust the date/time if it’s an old entry.
Tap Save. The balance will instantly update.
Open the profile of the customer you want to remind.
Just below their name, you will see buttons for WhatsApp and SMS.
Tap your preferred method. The app will automatically generate a polite message with your business name and their exact pending balance, ready to send.
Because your data is kept only on your phone, you should create backups regularly.
How to Backup (Export) Your Data:
Click the Gear/Settings Icon (⚙️) on the home screen.
Scroll down to Data Management and click Backup Data (Download).
A small file named NovaLedger_backup.json will be downloaded to your device. Keep this file safe (you can email it to yourself or save it in Google Drive).
How to Restore (Import) Your Data: If you accidentally cleared your browser history or bought a new phone, use this to get your accounts back.
Open the app and click the Gear/Settings Icon (⚙️).
Click Restore Data (Import).
Select the backup file (NovaLedger_backup.json) from your device’s storage.
Your customer list and all transactions will instantly reappear!
For the best experience, you don’t need to open your browser and type the website address every time. You can install it directly to your phone!
Open the tool in your mobile browser (like Google Chrome).
Look for the “Install App” button at the top of the screen next to the settings icon.
Tap it and confirm the installation.
The app icon will now appear on your phone’s home screen. You can open it just like any other app, and it will even work smoothly on full screen! (Note: If you don’t see the button, you can also tap your browser’s menu—the three dots—and select “Add to Home screen”).
